Counting the days

Till the election, till New Zealand, till Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Sometimes it’s hard to take each day at a time when I’m looking ahead.
We’re keeping busy with school, sports, church – work (for Sam).
Anna & Ethan are playing tennis – as am I. A & E are in band – flute and trumpet, respectively.
Trying to get organized for all the changes to come.
Enjoying the beautiful weather here – especially since it’s cooled down.

Night of Joy

We just returned from the “Night of Joy” concert weekend at Disney. This is the second time we’ve gone to the concerts. This year we saw a variety of artists including Barlow Girl, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Mercy Me, Pure NRG, Mandisa and Toby Mac.
We (the kids and I) drove down Friday after school and the concerts started at 7:30 on Friday and Saturday nights and went till 1:30 a.m. We stayed till 12:30 a.m. both nights and mercifully we were able to sleep in the next mornings.
The kids really enjoyed it and their favorite concert was Toby Mac – they stayed on their feet (as did I) the whole time and commented on how cool he was for being old like me. (Toby went to Liberty the same time I was – even though I only stayed 3 semesters – he had a brief romantic interest in one of my roommates) – that is my brief brush with “rock and roll fame”.
Thankfully we got back in time to lay low this evening and get ready for another week at school. Kids are doing well at school and I’m back in the swing of school volunteering and tennis (won our first match). Sam’s staying busy with work and planning our New Zealand trip.
A few more months we’ll bring this blog back public and will stay updated with everyone as we travel. Take care – J
