Went up to Ohio the weekend before last for a few days with the kids. Had a great time with our friends – stayed with the Jones’ and then with my sister in law and kids. Enjoyed a low key weekend just hanging out – going to the zoo, our old church, visiting friends – playing cards. Just what the dr. ordered.

Of course, Ethan somehow ended up with both swimmers ear and an ear infection in the same ear – so we spent a few hours at a local urgent care getting him medicine. The kids had a blast with friends and the cousins.

My girl friends all came together and hung out with me for dinner at Molly Woos. Really appreciated them taking the time to get together.

Always enjoy our trips up to Columbus – although this time it didn’t seem like I was “going home” this time. I’m just thankful that we’ve still got good friends that haven’t forgotten about us. :) J

Whew!!! Full week.

Hey all – so many things going on this week. Most of the time has been taken up with Anna & I teaching 3rd graders at our church’s Vacation Bible School. Such a great thing – so well run – we’ve got close to 400 kids all together. Our little class has 19 – but with a few kids that require some extra attention. :) We’ve got a bunch of really sweet kids, including 2 boys that are autistic – so extra care is required there – and a couple of rowdy ones that keep us on our toes. I literally came home the first 2 days and fell asleep – in the afternoon! Which is something I rarely do. Tomorrow is our last day, and we have an evening cookout with the families. Ethan has been hanging out with the “big kids” and doing day trips.

This also has been a high and low week emotionally. The birth of a good friends baby girl, another baby’s birth of one of Sam’s political friends. Other friends pregnancies that are difficult, my dad having knee surgery today and the death of a friend here in town that has had a difficult past few years. Tears of joy and sadness have been shed this week.

My brother John is in Cambodia now on a mission trip (see blog link) and will be there for another 2 weeks. I head up to Ohio with the kids on Saturday for a few days to see friends and family in Ohio. We’re looking forward to the “rest”.

That’s about it for now – thanks for checking in. J

We’re at the end of a few weeks of family visits. I went to the beach a few days ago with my brother Steve & his family and we were able to take some really nice family pictures with all the kids. They leave today to head back to Cincinatti. Sam’s parents and sister were with us the week prior.
Next week we jump into VBS at church and Sam starts back in the whole working thing – at least through November. Less than a month away till school starts so we’re enjoying the summer that we have left. We’ve spent tons of time this week at the beach – jumping waves for hours at a time.
Really enjoying the beautiful place we live. Thanks for tuning in with us. Pray for my brother John as he’s currently on a mission trip to Cambodia. His link is on our blog page to the right. Talk soon. Julie
